The Row NYC has always been known as a celebrity haunt, as good for its drinks and good times as it is for those occasional celebrity sightings. Style 360 capped off Style Fashion Week with a presentation of the new collection of Kristin Cavallari by Chinese Laundry, an invite-only affair for industry insiders. The girls at the door were instantly friendly and helped to move the guests along rather quickly, while still maintaining the exclusive feel of the night. Rumor has it Estelle and Serena Williams were in the space earlier, but other celebrities including Eku Edewor, Audrina Patridge and of course Kristin herself were in plain sight all night.
Drinks were flowing the entire night as well as hors d’oeuvres, small sliders and mini shish-kebabs, as everyone in attendance enjoyed lively house from the resident DJ. The crowd, filled with lively, attractive twenty and thirty-somethings, who were surprisingly laid back. Stylists, designers, models, hair and makeup professionals and more filled the room, creating as stunning a presentation as most of the shows I had been to that day. Of course, the reason everyone was there was for Kristin Cavallari, whose latest collection with Chinese Laundry represented her second collaboration with the label.
Bob Goldman, CEO of Chinese Laundry mentioned that the collaboration was more organic than anything as Kristin gravitated to creating high end designs with exquisite detailing and energetic finishes that captured a timeless yet contemporary aesthetic. From classic ballet flats with modern studs to peek-a-boo mesh platformed heels, the entire collection was built to provide the appearance of celebrity fashion at a price everyone could afford. From what was on display at the preview party, Kristin definitely captured the aesthetic of today’s consumer.
